The site that started it all is still open at neopets.com, with its pets, shops, games and the daily circuit. It also has a console spin-off: Neopets: Mega Mini Games Collection, 25 remastered classic mini-games, was announced for March 2026 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Best for: anyone who wants the real thing and their old account back.

2. Marapets

The closest in spirit to classic Neopets: a free virtual pet site with dozens of browser games (card, puzzle, word and arcade games) that pay out in MP, its in-game currency, plus daily featured games and optional premium features.

Best for: players who loved the arcade-and-shops side of Neopets.

3. Subeta

Running since 2004. You adopt pets from 62 species, dress an avatar from a catalogue of more than 100,000 wearables, shop at NPC stores that restock daily or at member-run shops, and quest, battle and post on busy forums.

Best for: collectors and dress-up fans who want a big, old-school community.

4. Flight Rising

Dragons instead of pets: you raise, breed and dress dragons in a free browser game made by Stormlight Workshop, around since 2013 and still posting news every week.

5. Lioden

You are the king of a pride of lionesses: breed cubs, defend your territory and fight other lions. Free to join, run by Lioden Ltd since 2012, with thousands of players online at a time.

6. Wolvden

Lioden's sister game (also owned by Lioden Ltd), set in North American and European biomes. You lead a wolf pack and send hunters, scouts, herbalists and pupsitters out to work. Free to play in the browser.

Best for: Lioden players who want a pack to manage, and anyone searching for games like Lioden.

7. Sylestia

A free fantasy pet game with more than 20 species to capture, generate or breed, visible traits and generations, an open-world RPG to explore, battles, trading and leaderboard contests.

Best for: players who want breeding and an adventure layer in one place.

8. Chicken Smoothie

A long-running, forum-centred adoptables site: you adopt pixel pets, collect them and trade them with other players. It is one of the most linked pet sites on the web because players show their pets off everywhere.

Best for: collectors who like the community side more than gameplay.

9. Tamaweb

A Tamagotchi-style pet you can play in the browser: feed, bathe and clean it, play mini-games, cook, grow plants and visit other players in an online hub called Hubchi. Windows and Android versions exist too.
